    What is date spread?

In a word: awesome. In more words: date spread is a similar concept to fig butter, apple butter, orĀ peanut butter,Ā but it's DATE based. We basically mash up dates, water, and our favorite flavors toĀ create sweet, creamy, spreadable dates!

    Ā

    What is date dough?

Date Dough as a dryĀ blendĀ of ground dates, coconut flour, almond flour, and a flavor. That's it! There's nothingĀ else like it.Ā Date doughĀ offers the experience of eating actual cookie dough,Ā that is 100% vegan, paleo, grain-free, and keto-friendly without added sugar.Ā All you have to do is add two tablespoons of water to a serving of date dough mix & you have ready to eat, plant-based dough,Ā noĀ baking required. Although we do includeĀ instructions on the back of eachĀ pouchĀ on howĀ you can bake actual date dough cookies!

    Ā

I've never eaten a date, what doesĀ it taste like?

A lot of peopleĀ say that dates taste like caramel. Other people (me) say that dates taste like gooey little glazed doughnutĀ holes! Either way, dates are one of the most delicious, naturally sweet fruits on the planet and they are a fantastic source ofĀ fiber, vitamins, and minerals. You gotta try them!!

    Ā

What kind of dates do you use?

    Deglet Noor Dates

    Ā

There'sĀ an ingredient in date spread called "lactic acid" in every date spread, what is lactic acid?

Lactic acid is produced naturally through fermentation and can be found in a variety of food productsĀ such as sourdough bread, salad dressings, and more!Ā Like many food manufacturers weĀ useĀ lactic acid toĀ stabilizeĀ the pH of our date spreads, which makes them shelf stable!Ā

What is the "natural shortbread flavor" in the Cookie Date Spread?

"NaturalĀ flavor"Ā is aĀ commonly used term in food labelingĀ to describe aĀ flavorĀ component that isnā€™t a 100% pure extract. ArtificialĀ flavors, by contrast, are mixtures of imitate, syntheticĀ chemicalĀ compounds.Ā

In the case of ourĀ naturalĀ shortbreadĀ flavor,Ā we use a combination of multiple extractsĀ in a water solvent solution. It is a unique, propriety (and tasty)Ā flavor!Ā Like many other health food companies, we opt to label with ā€œnaturalĀ flavorā€ to protect our formulation and keep our ingredient list as concise as possible in the small space on our jar. Rest assured, all of our products follow strict regulatory guidelines and will never include GMOs, synthetic chemicals, preservatives, corn, soy, added sugars, etc.Ā

    Ā

    Are you Certified Kosher?

Yes, all of our date spreads are KOF-K Kosher certified. Date dough is not yet Kosher certified.Ā

    Ā

    How many caloriesĀ perĀ serving?Ā

Only 25 calories per tablespoon serving of date spread!Ā For reference, most nut butters average 90-105 calories per tablespoon, cookie butterĀ is aĀ whopping 90 calories forĀ the same amount,Ā then chocolate frosting and hazelnut spread each have around 100 caloriesĀ per tablespoon. Date Dough is 60 calories per two tablespoons.Ā If you followĀ the instructions on the back ofĀ theĀ pouchĀ and mix 1/2Ā cup of date dough with 2 tablespoons of water you willĀ get 4 balls that are 60Ā calories per ball.Ā

    Ā

What foods go well withĀ date spread?

Fruit: sliced apples, bananas, strawberries, mangoes, pears, etc.

Grainy things: biscuits, muffins, toast, oatmeal, sandwiches (DB&J = Date Butter & Jelly) and definitely onĀ pancakes and waffles! Try dipping pretzels and crackers in date spread too.

Cold things: yogurt, acai bowls, chia pudding, ice cream, smoothies...

Baked Goods: cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, banana bread, cinnamon rolls... you can use Wanna Date?Ā as a sweetener or oil substitute in any recipe. You can even useĀ date spread instead of frosting!

Combined with other spreads: Wanna Date? is really good paired with peanut butter, almond butter, jam, jelly,Ā honey...and on a bagel with cream cheese!

Get creative: Spread it on sā€™mores,Ā dress it on a salad, sizzle it on bacon, set it up on your ThanksgivingĀ table alongside the cranberry sauce and gravy, enjoy it on a nice charcuterie board... check out ourĀ InstagramĀ for more awesome ideas!

Closing thought: The best way to eatĀ Wanna Date?Ā is straight from the jar with a spoon.Ā Just sayin'.Ā

    Ā

Do I need to refrigerateĀ "Wanna Date?"

YES.Ā Date spread is shelf stable and you must refrigerate it after opening. Fact: It tastes better cold! Date Dough does not require refrigeration.Ā

    Ā

    WhenĀ will myĀ product expire?

There is a recommended "Best By" date printed on the top or bottom of every jar of date spread.Ā YouĀ must keep theĀ spreads refrigerated after opening and consume it within 60 days. Date Dough does not require refrigeration and also has a best-by date printed on the packaging.Ā Ā

    Ā

The color of myĀ date spreadĀ looksĀ darker than I expected, why?

Because weĀ refuse toĀ put fake color additives or dyes inside! Naturally, no dateĀ looks exactly the same. Some dates are bigger, some are smaller, some are super light brown, andĀ some are on the darker side...the natural variance in the color of dates causes a natural variance in the color of our date spreads! One thing's for sure though, your Wanna Date?Ā will ALWAYS taste INSANE.Ā

    Ā
